I strongly believe that living a fulfilling life entails leaving a positive impact on the world before we leave. Through my work as a Social Security Disability Lawyer, I have come to realize that most of my clients are seeking to do the same, and to improve their own lives and those of their families.
Assisting disabled individuals in getting their applications approved and guiding them through the process brings me immense personal satisfaction. By making a difference in their lives, I feel like I am leaving my mark on the world.
What draws me to Social Security Disability Law is not only the philosophical aspect of it, but also the technicalities involved. My analytical process begins with reviewing the initial denial letter and the medical records of my clients, which requires a meticulous approach to identify anything that may have been missed or misinterpreted.
While this may sound tedious to some, I find it incredibly rewarding, like solving a challenging puzzle. Once I have analyzed and identified all the relevant facts and evidence, I craft a compelling argument to present my client’s case to the Administrative Law Judge. For me, the process of building a strong case is just as satisfying as finding evidence that supports my clients’ claims.
Throughout the entire representation process, I remain cognizant of how crucial it is for my clients to receive positive results, not just for themselves but for their families as well. I am honored by the trust my clients place in me and there is no greater feeling than succeeding on their behalf.
I am a native of El Paso, Texas, having spent my childhood and teenage years there. I received my primary education at Radford School before attending Fountain Valley School of Colorado, Colorado Springs, for boarding school. After graduating high school, I attended Guilford College, which is affiliated with the Quaker community and located in Greensboro, North Carolina. During my time at Guilford, I double-majored in International Studies and Philosophy and had the opportunity to study abroad at Oxford University in London, England.
While at Guilford, I played tennis and was recognized for my achievements with honors such as All-American for Division III tennis and All-Academic. After completing my undergraduate degree, I pursued further education at Catholic University, Columbus School of Law in Washington, DC. During this time, I was admitted to the Comparative and International Law Institute and traveled to Krakow, Poland, to study International Business Transactions at Jagiellonian University.
Following law school, I was admitted to the Washington, DC Bar Association and worked at several law firms, focusing on corporate law with specialties in mergers and acquisitions, corporate defense, and patents. After practicing in DC for 12 years, I decided to return to El Paso to join my family’s law firm, which specializes in Family Law, Personal Injury/Medical Malpractice, and Complex Business Litigation.
During my time in El Paso, I had the opportunity to practice Social Security Disability Law, which sparked my passion for it. This inspired me to establish my own firm, branching out from my family’s practice to focus exclusively on Social Security Disability Law.
